This year’s Konvoy 4 Kids Mackay, held on Sunday, was a day to remember. The annual event brings together families, truck enthusiasts, and the community for a lively convoy from the Sarina Showgrounds along the Bruce Highway to the Mackay Showgrounds, where a vibrant family fair caps off the celebration. For children with special needs, the Konvoy 4 Kids is especially meaningful, providing an experience they cherish all year.
The 2025 event was record-breaking, with 234 vehicles taking part in the convoy. Among them was the RIMEX truck, driven by Andrew Fletcher, who attended with his family. Andrew shared that it was a fantastic day, and the kids truly enjoyed themselves. He is pictured with his wife Bonny, daughter Evie, and son Coby.
Also present was Joel Bloom from our Mackay branch admin team. As a former truck driver, Joel had a great time viewing the impressive trucks on display. He also enjoyed indulging his passion for photography, capturing countless moments from the day.
Every child deserves a fair chance to pursue their dreams, regardless of their abilities. Each year, Variety, the Children’s Charity, lifts up kids facing illness, adversity, or special needs, helping them to live, laugh, and learn. Variety’s mission is to ensure every child in Australia can reach their potential, no matter what challenges they face.
Over the past decade, teams from Mackay have raised more than $214,000 for local kids. These efforts have provided families with wheelchairs, walking frames, specialised coaches, and vehicles modified to suit their needs. Funds have also covered essential medical equipment and services, technology, programs, and Variety Heart Scholarships, which help children discover their talents, enjoy learning, and make friends. In addition, Variety hosts events that bring joy and foster community connections.
We were honoured to participate in the event as a silver sponsor. Konvoy 4 Kids is a wonderful cause supporting families across Queensland.
