Time to rid the industry of old technology. RIMEX has offered and recommended the changeout of the decades old EV/EM style lock ring (usually found in 33,35,39,45 and 49” rims) to the more robust HDT/EU style lock ring found on the 51” and above wheel sizes, since the late 1990’s. After several recent incidents of ejections while in service, several of our customers have started changing out the EM/EV style lock rings to the more robust HDT/EU, with great success. The HDT lock ring offers a greater surface contact area and improved overall fitment. Increased strength, safety and service life also means extended testing hours leading to less downtime and increased productivity.
