We organise this day each year in dedication to RIMEX’s founder Chris Weston, who passed away in August 2017 after a lengthy battle with Leukaemia. Last Year in Adelaide we raised a whopping $17,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.

A bit about the Luekaemia Foundation

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity in Australia dedicated to assisting those with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS, MPN, Waldenström’s macroglobulinaemia, aplastic anaemia, amyloidosis, and related blood-disorders survive and live a better quality of life. RIMEX is proud to support the Leukaemia Foundation.

A bit about this year’s special guests

Darcy Fogarty, a country boy from Lucindale in SA, moved to the city to play for Glenelg and was later drafted by the Crows in 2017. He won the Ben Mitchell Medal in 2016/17 while with the NAB AFL Academy. Fogarty debuted in 2018, scoring a goal with his first kick. In 2019, he briefly played in defence before returning to the senior team and scoring nine goals in four games. So far, he has played 79 games in six seasons. His standout season was in 2023, where he played 21 games, averaging 11.3 disposals and kicking 34 goals.

Hamish Hartlett was drafted by Port Adelaide with Pick 4 in the 2008 AFL Draft and had a successful career at the club, playing 193 games over 13 years. Known for his long kicking and physical style of play, Hartlett also demonstrated leadership qualities, serving as vice-captain for three seasons and being part of the leadership group for 10 consecutive years. After retiring from AFL, he returned to West Adelaide as a player and later became the Youth Development Manager, before joining Port Adelaide’s men’s program as a development coach. Currently, Hartlett is leading Port Adelaide’s SANFL side as the senior coach in 2024.
